Guelder Rose Hedge
Viburnum opulus
Guelder Rose (Viburnum opulus) is a native hedging shrub with lacy white flowers in early summer, clusters of glossy red berries in autumn, and maple-shaped leaves that turn rich red before they fall.
It is excellent for wildlife and copes with damp and heavy clay soils. Choose bare root from £1.90 a plant, with 5% off packs of 100 and 10% off packs of 250, or pot grown from 40cm to 150cm for planting at any time of year.
