Why choose Euonymus Green Spire hedging?
Green Spire is one of the most useful Euonymus cultivars for creating a neat, dark green formal hedge. Its small evergreen leaves and naturally upright growth give it a closer visual resemblance to traditional Box than broader-leaved or variegated Euonymus varieties.
The narrow habit is particularly useful beside paths, around borders, in parterres and in smaller gardens where hedge width matters. It responds well to regular clipping and can be maintained as a crisp low boundary without needing the space required by larger screening plants.
What makes Green Spire different?
Green Spire grows more upright and narrowly than Euonymus Jean Hugues, making it our preferred choice where the aim is a tight, small-leaved and distinctly Box-like hedge. Jean Hugues is another excellent dark green Euonymus, but develops a slightly broader and bushier outline.
Green Spire is therefore best chosen for structure, edging and lower formal hedging rather than for creating a tall, fast privacy screen.

Green Spire is the Euonymus I would normally start with when someone wants the look of a neat Box hedge but would prefer an alternative plant. The leaves are small, dark green and evergreen, and the growth is naturally upright rather than broad and sprawling. That makes it particularly useful beside paths and for low formal hedging where keeping the finished hedge fairly narrow matters. If you want something a little broader and bushier, I would also look at Jean Hugues.

Choose according to your budget, the finished effect you want and how quickly you need the new hedge to look established.
