Using Klarna at Hedging Plants Direct
A longer hedge, larger plants or an established screening solution can represent a significant purchase. Klarna is available as a payment option at checkout, allowing eligible customers to divide the cost of an order rather than paying the complete amount at once.
Klarna is a form of credit and should only be selected when you are confident that you can make each payment when it is due.
Paying in Three Instalments with Klarna
3 interest-free instalments with Klarna
Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. Subject to status. Ts&Cs and late fees apply.
Klarna Pay in 3 allows an approved purchase to be divided into three instalments. Your payment schedule and the amount of each instalment will be shown by Klarna before you agree to proceed.
You can view and manage your payment plan through Klarna. Klarna will also provide information about payment dates, its terms and any action required from you.
How to Select Klarna at Checkout
Using Klarna at Hedging Plants Direct is straightforward:
- Choose your hedging plants, trees, topiary or planting products.
- Add the required items to your basket.
- Continue through our online checkout.
- Select Klarna when it is shown as an available payment method.
- Provide the information requested by Klarna.
- Review the payment plan and terms before confirming your purchase.
Klarna considers each application separately. Hedging Plants Direct does not make the lending decision and cannot guarantee that Klarna will be offered or that a particular order will be approved.
The payment choices shown may depend on the order value, the information provided and Klarna’s assessment.
Who Handles My Payment Information?
Klarna handles the application, payment plan and payment information associated with its service in accordance with its own terms and privacy information.
Hedging Plants Direct receives the information required to process and dispatch your order, but we do not decide whether a Klarna application is accepted.
Always check that the information entered at checkout is correct before submitting your application.
What Can I Order with Klarna?
Where Klarna is available at checkout, it may be used for an eligible online order containing products such as:
- Bare-root hedging plants
- Root-balled hedging plants
- Pot-grown hedge plants
- Instant hedging plants
- Pleached trees
- Ornamental trees
- Topiary plants
- Planting essentials
Product availability, delivery arrangements and seasonal dispatch dates still apply when Klarna is selected.
For example, bare-root and root-balled plants may be ordered in advance for delivery during the dormant planting season. Choosing Klarna does not change the stated availability or dispatch date of the plants.
Is Klarna Guaranteed to Be Available?
No. Klarna is subject to status and its own eligibility requirements.
The payment option may not appear for every customer or every order. An application may also be declined, even where Klarna has been used successfully for a previous purchase.
Hedging Plants Direct cannot change Klarna’s decision. Alternative payment methods can be selected at checkout where available.
Does Klarna Carry Out Credit Checks?
Klarna may carry out eligibility, identity, affordability or creditworthiness checks when assessing an application.
The checks used and how they may appear on your credit file can depend on the payment product and your circumstances. Review the information and terms presented by Klarna before agreeing to the payment plan.
We do not recommend relying on older statements claiming that Klarna checks can never affect your credit position.
Is Klarna Pay in 3 Interest Free?
Klarna describes the product as three interest-free instalments.
Although interest is not charged on the scheduled Pay in 3 instalments, terms and conditions apply and late fees may apply if payments are missed. Review the payment schedule carefully and make sure sufficient funds will be available on each due date.
What Happens If I Cancel Before Dispatch?
If you change your mind before your order has been dispatched, please contact our nursery team as soon as possible.
Your refund will be the amount paid, minus any payment-processing fees charged to Hedging Plants Direct by the payment provider. These processing fees are not returned to us when the payment is refunded.
For Buy Now Pay Later transactions, including Klarna, our current non-refundable processing charge is:
4.99% of the transaction value plus £0.35 per transaction.
This amount will therefore be deducted from the refund when a Klarna order is cancelled before dispatch.
For example, the processing charge on a £1,000 Klarna transaction would be £50.25. This consists of £49.90, calculated at 4.99%, plus the £0.35 transaction charge.
Please read our complete Delivery and Returns Information before placing an order.
What Happens If I Cancel or Return an Order After Dispatch?
Once an order has left the nursery, it is handled under our after-dispatch returns policy.
Plants and accessories may be returned within seven days of delivery. Because plants are living products that can become dry or stressed, please contact us within three days of delivery to arrange the return.
Until the plants are safely returned, they remain the customer’s responsibility. They should be:
- Kept upright and sheltered
- Watered when required
- Repacked securely
- Returned with their original labels
- Kept in a condition suitable for resale
If returned plants are damaged, dried out or no longer in a resaleable condition, we may need to reduce the refund to reflect their condition.
Return delivery costs are not covered by Hedging Plants Direct and remain the customer’s responsibility.
Please review the complete Delivery and Returns Information and our Terms and Conditions before ordering.
What Happens to My Klarna Payment Plan After a Refund?
Once Hedging Plants Direct has approved and processed an eligible refund, the order information is passed through the payment system so Klarna can update the payment plan.
The time taken for the adjustment to appear may depend on the payment status and Klarna’s processing.
Continue to check your Klarna account until the payment plan has been updated. Klarna should be contacted directly if you have questions about:
- An instalment that is still showing as due
- The amount refunded to your account
- A scheduled payment
- Your payment plan
- A payment that has already been collected
Please remember that the non-refundable Klarna processing fee described above is deducted from cancellations made before dispatch.
Can I Change My Klarna Payment Dates?
Your payment plan is managed by Klarna rather than Hedging Plants Direct.
Check your Klarna account or app for the available payment-management options. Contact Klarna directly when you need help with a due date, missed payment or change in your circumstances.
Do not ignore an upcoming payment. Seek assistance from Klarna promptly if you are concerned that you may not be able to pay on time.
Choosing the Right Plants for Your Project
Spreading the cost does not change which plants are suitable for your garden. Before ordering, consider:
- The length of the proposed hedge
- The required finished height
- Evergreen or deciduous foliage
- Soil type and drainage
- Sun, shade and exposure
- The root type and planting season
- The number of plants required per metre
- Access for delivery and planting
- The cost of compost, Rootgrow, irrigation and protection
Browse our full range of hedging plants by species or compare plants by root type:
- Bare-root hedging for economical seasonal planting
- Pot-grown hedging for flexible planting throughout much of the year
- Root-balled hedging for larger seasonal plants
- Instant hedging for established sections of hedge
Our established family-run nursery supplies retail, trade and commercial customers across the UK. Our team can help with plant choice, quantities and delivery planning, but Klarna eligibility and payment enquiries must be handled directly by Klarna.
Remember the Cost of Planting Essentials
When planning your order, allow for the products needed to plant and establish the hedge correctly.
Apply Rootgrow mycorrhizal fungi at planting, making sure it comes into direct contact with the roots.
Where additional organic matter would improve the existing soil, mix peat-free Hedge Planting Compost with the excavated soil.
Newly planted hedges require dependable watering. For longer planting lines, browse our hedge irrigation products.
Where rabbits are present, younger plants may require Hedging Spiral Guards supported by suitable canes.
Once the hedge has been planted, Hedge Feed can be applied according to the product instructions as part of its ongoing care.
