Common Laurel trees, also known as Cherry Laurel, is one of the most commonly sold hedging species for medium to large gardens. Because of its large glossy green leaves, Prunus laurocerasus 'Rotundifolia' makes the ideal choice for a privacy screen or sound barrier. This hardy evergreen is one of the most popular garden plants in the UK.

Suitable for hedge pruning with secateurs and should be done twice a year. First in March/April and again in late September/early October.

A hard prune in March will make Laurel shoot and thicken up in the spring and is the best time to prune woody established plants.

It's best not to use hedge trimmers with large leafed plants because of the damage caused to the leaves.
