Photinia Hedge, also known as Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' is a stunning evergreen hedging species that provides seasonal interest, with white flowers in the spring followed by black berries in the autumn. Their glossy green foliage is brilliant red when young. For the best colour Photinia x fraseri 'Red Robin' should be planted in full sun but will grow in partial shade and is perfect for formal hedges.

Suitable for hedge pruning with secateurs and should be done twice a year. First in March/April and again in late September/early October.

A hard prune in March will make Photinia shoot and thicken up in the spring, this is the best time to prune woody established plants.

Its best not to use hedge trimmers with large leafed plants because of the damage caused to the leaves.
