Hazel Hedge, also known as Corylus avellana is an attractive, native, deciduous hedging species, with large green leaves that turn yellow in the autumn and long yellow catkins that provides winter interest. Hazel produces edible fruit that are of vital importance to birds and other wildlife. Corylus avellana works well as a single species hedge or in a species rich, mixed native hedge.
