Purple Beech hedge plants, also known as Copper Beech, is a popular deciduous hedging species as it has wonderful purple to dark green, wavy foliage that turn stunning shades of coppery orange in the autumn. Because it retains its leaves throughout the winter months Fagus sylvatica 'Purpurea' hedging is a perfect choice for screening. Purple Beech prefers dry sandy soil and is fantastic as a single species hedge or in a species rich, mixed native hedge.
