Scots Pine - Pinus sylvestris

Scots pine is the only British native pine and features regularly up and down the country. Although slow growing it's blue/green needle-like leave and orange flaky bark makes an attractive screen all year round.   Flowers in May, yellow (male) and red (female) followed by green cones that turn brown in autumn.
