Common Dogwood hedge, also known as Cornus sanguinea, is an attractive hedging species that provides seasonal interest, with bright orange stems that offer a splash of colour in the winter, green ovate foliage that turns deep red in the autumn, small white flowers followed by black berries that are a hit with birds and other wildlife.  Cornus sanguinea works very well as part of a species rich, mixed native hedge.

Growth rate: Medium 20-40cm per year
