Compact Laurel Hedge - Prunus laur Otto Luyken

Compact Laurel hedging - Prunus laurocerasus 'Otto Luyken' is a dense shrub perfect for garden boundaries. 'Otto Luyken' is a lot shorter than the Common Laurel with a more compact growing height of 3ft-4ft. The pointy fleshy leaves makes it a wonderful ground cover plant. It has rich deep green leaves which make a wonderful evergreen shrub to add to borders and flower beds. During spring white candel shape flowers are followed by cherry shaped black fruit.

Its best to plant Bare Root hedging in a double staggered row, and Pot Grown / Rootballed hedging in a single row.

Plant Spacing:
Bare Root. When planting smaller (60cm and below) plants you will need 6 plants per metre, and for the medium size (60cm and above) you will need 5 per metre, and for the larger size (90cm and above) plants you will need 4.5 per meter.

Pot Grown. When planting smaller (80cm and below) plants you will need 3.5 plants per metre, and for the medium size (80cm and above) you will need 2 to  2.5 per metre, and for the larger size (120cm and above) plants you will need 2 per meter.
