Elaeagnus ebbingei Hedge - Silver Berry

Elaeagnus ebbingei is a very tough everygreen shurb that has a quite and interesting textured leaf. Dark green on top and a matt silver underneath. Elaeagnus normally flowers in Autumn and produces small fruits in the Spring. It is quite a fast grower with up to 30cm a year possible. It can be planted close to the sea or in a windy spot. Its not a fan of alkaline or wet spots.

Plant Spacing:
When planting 40cm - 60cm - 3lt plants you will need 3 plants per metre to create a good hedge. We would plant no less than 2.5 per metre.  60cm - 80cm - 5lt are best planted at 3 plants per metre and no less than 2 per metre, and 60cm - 90cm - c10 2 plants per metre would be sufficient, but no less than 1.5 plants per metre.
